About the Event:

Get ready for an exciting and engaging quiz that brings Music, Entertainment, Literature, Arts, and Sports together on one stage. From popular hits to well-known stories, MELAS challenges your knowledge across familiar and exciting themes. Get set for a fast-paced journey through culture and creativity, where sharp minds take the spotlight.                                                                                   

Event Details:

Round 1 & 2:

1. Each question in prelims carries 1 mark.
2. Half marks are provided for partial answers.
3. Questions with 2 parts in their answers receive half marks for each part being correct.
4. The last 5 questions are the tiebreakers.
5. There will be no negative marking.
6. Blocks are allowed.
7. Participants have 1 minute to answer each question.
8. The combined score of Rounds 1 and 2, multiplied by 2, will be carried forward as the starting score for Round 3.                                                               

Round 3:

1. A buzzer system will determine the order of answering.
2. The first, second, and third teams to buzz correctly will be awarded 20, 16, and 14 points respectively, with subsequent teams receiving proportionately fewer points.
3. An incorrect answer will result in a deduction of 5 points.                                             

Rules and Regulations:

1. A team must consist of a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 3 members.
2. All the team members must be from the same college.
3. Participants must present a valid physical college ID card and PID to participate in the event.
4. Registration must be done online through the website. On-spot registrations are not allowed.
5. The number of teams qualifying for the subsequent rounds will be decided by the organisers. The rules for the block will be explained before the commencement of the quiz.
6. The use of electronic gadgets is not allowed.
7. Any sort of malpractice will lead to immediate disqualification.
8. The quizmaster’s decision will be final and binding.                                                 

Judging Criteria:

• The team with the highest score wins.
