About the Event:

Enter LogiCide, a crime-themed, mystery-driven logic challenge where patterns conceal the truth. Participants decode sequences, connect clues, and apply structured analytical reasoning across multiple rounds. Only teams that identify hidden logic and reason consistently will progress towards the final revelation.


Event Details:

Round 1:

  1. Teams will solve logic-based problems involving pattern identification, sequence analysis, quantitative conditions, and output prediction using simple pseudocode or logical steps.
  2. Only the top-performing teams from this round will qualify for the next round.

Round 2:

Part A: Black Box Logic Decoding

  1. Teams will be given three to four Black Box questions.
  2. In each question, teams will receive a set of input-output pairs and one input without an output.
  3. Teams must identify the underlying pattern or logic used in the given pairs and determine the correct output for the unseen input.
  4. The outputs obtained from all the questions together will form a final clue.

Part B: Algorithm Reconstruction

  1. Teams must reconstruct and present the decoded logic by drawing a flowchart and writing pseudocode.
  2. The flowchart and pseudocode must be clear, complete, and consistent with the logic identified in Part A.
  3. Judges may test the solutions using additional hidden inputs to verify correctness.


Rules and Regulations:

  1. A team must consist of 2 members.
  2. All team members must be from the same college.
  3. Participants must present a physical college ID card and PID to participate in the event.
  4. Use of external tools such as mobile phones is strictly prohibited.
  5. The decisions of the judges and organisers are final and binding.


Judging Criteria:

Round 1:

  • Logical reasoning and analytical thinking.
  • Pattern identification and sequence analysis.
  • Quantitative aptitude involving conditions and constraints.
  • Output prediction using simple pseudocode or logical steps.

Round 2:

Part A: Black Box Logic Decoding

  • Correctness and generality of the code.
  • Logical consistency across all inputs.
  • Clarity of explanation through comments.

Part B: Algorithm Reconstruction

  • Logical correctness of the flowchart
  • Clarity and completeness of decision paths
  • Accuracy of pseudocode reconstruction
  • Consistency between flowchart and pseudocode
