About the Event:
Locked in Reality is an exhilarating technical event that challenges participants to utilize their programming, analytical, and problem-solving skills to overcome a series of engaging puzzles and tasks. In this two-round event, participants will face exciting challenges that test their technical knowledge, teamwork and ability to think under pressure. The event promises a thrilling experience, combining elements of an escape room and a treasure hunt, with a unique and immersive storyline driving the competition.
Event Details:
Round 1: Logged In
- It consists of a quiz based on aptitude questions, technical problems, and brainteasers.
- The questions are divided into levels of increasing difficulty, with higher-difficulty questions offering greater rewards.
- Teams must attempt all the questions within the given time limit to maximise their score.
- Bonus points will be awarded to teams for the fastest submissions of correct answers.
- Participants can choose to take hints for challenging questions, but points will be deducted for each hint used.
- The teams with the highest points, determined by their total score, will advance to the next round.
Round 2: Escape Through Reality
- Each team will participate in a series of 4-5 puzzle-based and detective-style games conducted through a simulated digital system.
- Each game represents a stage that teams must unlock by solving technical, logical, or analytical challenges within a specified time limit.
- Teams will earn points for successfully completing each game, with additional bonus points awarded to the team that finishes a game first.
- The difficulty level of the games may vary, and higher-difficulty challenges may carry higher points.
- Some stages may include misleading clues or decoy elements, requiring careful analysis and strategic thinking.
- Teams may use the points earned from Round 1 to avail hints during the games, with corresponding point deductions.
- After the completion of all games or upon reaching the overall time limit, the total score of each team will be calculated.
- The team with the highest cumulative score at the end of the round will be declared the winner.
- In the event of a tie, tie-breaker challenges will be conducted to determine the final rankings.
Rules and Regulations:
- A team must consist of a minimum of 2 members and a maximum of 3 members.
- All the team members must be from the same college.
- Participants must present a physical college ID card and PID to participate in the event.
- The decisions of the judges and the organisers are final and binding.
Judging Criteria:
Round 1:
- Completion of the quiz, the time taken to finish it, and the number of correct answers submitted by the team.
Round 2:
- Successful completion of game stages, total points accumulated, time efficiency, and appropriate use of hints.
