About the Event:

Think you have what it takes to improvise your way to victory? If wit, humour, and spontaneity are your strengths, IMPROV is your stage to shine. Team up, think on your feet, and let your creativity steal the show as you tackle unpredictable situations with no scripts and no second chances.

Event Details:

Round 1: Escalation

1. Two teams will compete in a given scenario, set either as a courtroom argument or a general debate.
2. One participant from each team will begin by presenting their argument or viewpoint.
3. At random intervals, another team member will enter the scene by selecting a line from a box.
4. The entering participant must continue the argument using the selected line as the base.
5. With each entry, the scene will escalate in intensity, drama, or absurdity.
6. Teams will be evaluated based on creativity and seamless improvisation.         

Round 2: Emotional Atyachar

1. Participants are divided into four emotional zones: Happy, Sad, Confused, and Angry.
2. An everyday situation is given as a prompt, and each participant acts it out according to the emotion of the quadrant they are in.
3. When the buzzer sounds, participants move to the next quadrant and instantly adapt their emotions while continuing the same scene.
4. The challenge is to switch emotions smoothly and stay in character.                       

Tie breaker:

1. Something You Can Say To… But Not To…

A common scenario will be given to both teams.

One participant from each team will come forward to perform.

Participants must deliver a single statement that fits the scenario most creatively and unconventionally.

The statement must clearly reflect the given situation while maintaining relevance and originality.

2. Use the Word

1. A baseline prompt is provided and the team begins improvising the scene.
2. At a random point, an unexpected word is introduced by the MC.
3. Participants must incorporate the word naturally into the ongoing performance.
4. The word must be used without breaking character, flow, or continuity of the scene.                                                                                                                               

Rules and Regulations:

1. A team must consist of 2 members.
2. All the team members must be from the same college.
3. Participants must present a physical college ID card and PID to participate in the event.
4. All interactions must stay within the context of the provided scenario or topic.
5. The decisions of the judges and organisers are final and binding.
